Beanpole, Monthly Yoonjongshin unveil
Jang Beom-june music video
Samsung C&T Fashion Group said on April 24 that it had released a cover of the 1989 song “After You Leave Me” by Jang Beom-june, the leader of the highly popular indie band Busker Busker, as part of Beanpole’s 30th anniversary “Now Thirty” campaign.
The song is the second in the Beanpole campaign, which was launched with the idea of communicating across the generations through music.
The songs in the campaign are produced by singer-songwriter Yoon Jong-shin, who is also the CEO of the entertainment company Mystic Story, and released through his Monthly Yoonjongshin platform. He wrote and performed the first song in the series, Grace: To Thirty, last month.
The number 30 is the theme linking the musicians featured in the campaign. Yoon Jong-shin is celebrating his 30th year in the music business this year. Jang Beom-june and the other singers in the project – Former Girls Generation member Taeyeon and the youngest of the three members of the group Urban Zakapa — recently turned 30.
“It is a great honor for me to have worked with one of Korea’s best producers as I turn 30, which I feel is an enlightening age for a singer,” said Jang Beom-june. “The cover is a reinterpretation of the 1989 song that I try to convey in my own way.”
Taeyeon, whose full name is Kim Tae-yeon, will take over in May with the campaign’s third song – Kim Hyun-chul’s “Train to Chuncheon.” In June, Urban Zakapa will release their cover of “A Good Day” by the ‘80s and ‘90s star Kim Wan-sun.
The campaign will stage a “Now Thirty” concert in July with Yoon Jong-shin, Jang Beom-june, Taeyeon and Urban Zapaka.
