Creating Value Beyond Space

At Samsung C&T E&C Group, the newly formed DxP Business Strategy Team is embarking on bold new challenges. The team’s name, “DxP,” stands for Digital/Data, Experience/Multiple, and Platform, symbolizing its mission to merge technology, data, and diverse experiences into platform-driven solutions.

Despite being nearly two years old, the team has quickly built an atmosphere of positivity and innovation. Members are encouraged to bring creative ideas to the table, embrace experimentation, and collaborate with partners both inside and outside the company. Together, they are redefining construction not just as building structures, but as building possibilities.

“Within our team, we constantly remind ourselves to go beyond construction,” says Vice President of the DxP Business Strategy Team. “Our role is to discover new models and expand the potential of construction into entirely new fields.”

Future-Oriented Projects

The team is focusing on three core projects: Robotics, Wellness, and Open Innovation. These initiatives reflect Samsung C&T’s mission to combine technology, data, and experience to create meaningful change.

Wellness

Recognizing that health management has shifted from treatment to prevention since the pandemic, the team is developing AI-based wellness platforms. These integrate physical, nutritional, and mental health through digital devices and apps. The project, integrating Body WELL, Food WELL, and Mind WELL, aims to provide a unified wellness service offering personalized support from diet management to mental care. Pilot testing is already underway, with plans to launch solutions in the near future.

Robotics

To innovate spatial experiences, the team is planning and commercializing various service robots across homes, buildings, and beyond. The team’s work varies from door-to door F&B delivery robots, robots that carry heavy and bulky loads between parking lots and homes, to integrating different robots within a building into a single platform.

Recently, the team is also advancing the development of companion robots for seniors. About the size of a small home appliance, these robots are designed to support daily life by offering conversational companionship, health monitoring, and reminders. Equipped with AI, they can answer questions, suggest activities, and even encourage exercise, making them a meaningful addition to elderly care.

Open Innovation

Through the FutureScape program, the team is building partnerships with global start-ups and innovators. With initiatives like Demo Day and collaborative pilot projects, Samsung C&T is connecting expertise from diverse fields to accelerate progress. FutureScape has already attracted widespread interest, laying the groundwork for long-term innovation.

By integrating these projects, the team envisions spaces that are healthier, smarter, and more human-centered.

Creating Synergy and Moving Forward

Synergy is a key theme for the DxP team. Through collaborations with start-ups, research institutions, and external partners, they are amplifying their impact and expanding opportunities. The FutureScape Kick-off Day, held earlier this year, brought together employees, innovators, and partners to showcase ideas and build momentum for the future.

Looking ahead, the team has set ambitious goals: completing pilot projects such as the senior companion robot, expanding wellness solutions into the market, and strengthening global networks through open innovation.

“Our aim is clear,” says Vice President Hyung Si-won . “We want to create tangible results this year that prove how construction can evolve into entirely new possibilities. By moving forward with optimism and determination, we are confident our team will deliver meaningful outcomes.”
