Jacquemus, a French fashion house popular among Millennials and Gen Z, has expanded its presence in South Korea with the opening of its fifth store at Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam. The warm, inviting space blends the brand’s distinctive aesthetic with French minimalism, showcasing its latest Fall/Winter 2024 collections.
The French Label Coveted by K-pop Stars
Jacquemus, a favorite brand among global celebrities and influencers alike, continues to expand its presence in Korea at major retail hubs with a new standalone store at Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam. Samsung C&T Fashion Group proudly operates the French brand in South Korea through its concept store called 10 Corso Como Seoul. The launch of this new store follows the recent success of store openings at Lotte Department Store’s main branch in April and Hyundai Department Store’s main branch in July.
Members of the K-pop group Red Velvet have recently been spotted wearing coveted Jacquemus items, including The long Pralù knit cardigan, The long Bambino black bag, and other items such as zip-up hoodies, drawing print shirts, and more. The brand’s popularity has seen cumulative sales at the end of October increase by more than 60% year-on-year.
Minimal Storefront a Nod to French Minimalism
Jacquemus has created a space on the third floor of the Shinsegae Department Store in Gangnam, spanning 42.3 square meters, that reflects French minimalism and the brand’s distinctive aesthetic.
The store’s perfectly symmetrical design and interior create a sense of visual harmony. Decorated in bright tones, it exudes a light and welcoming atmosphere. At the center of the store, a wooden table pairs seamlessly with a carpet underneath, while two symmetrical plinths displayed in the windows are finished in a soft yellow, adding a warm, homelike comfort to the space.
The La Casa Collection
Jacquemus has introduced its new La Casa collection for Fall/Winter 2024. The Rond Carré, which features the brand’s signature square and circle motif detail on either side, is available in various sizes and colors. Simon Porte Jacquemus, the Creative Director and namesake of the brand, suggests that The Turismo bowling bag is the perfect bag for work and will be available later in the year.
Minimal Tones with Metallic Details for Winter
The brand also unveiled its Fall/Winter 2024 Winter Retreat collection earlier this month. The collection features warm creams and browns, as well as red and silver tones that embody a minimal yet bold Jacquemus aesthetic. The Bisou bag has been reimagined for the collection as The small Bisou Chaine shoulder bag, which keeps the original minimal design with added charm for the holiday season.
Expanding the Jacquemus Aesthetic Across Korea
“We are opening standalone stores in department stores at major locations across South Korea to widely promote the allure of Jacquemus, a brand highly desired by younger generations,” said Jeon Bo-ra, a team leader at 10 Corso Como Seoul. “We hope this will be a time for customers to experience the brand’s minimalist aesthetic firsthand while appreciating its unique brand identity through its collections.”
