Everland is hosting a “Bao Panda Family Birthday Celebration” throughout July. The celebrations will include a traditional Korean first birthday for panda twins Rui Bao and Hui Bao, birthday-themed activities, and collectible panda-themed merchandise.
July is Panda Month at Everland
July is an extraordinary time for the Bao family, with all five pandas having their birthdays in the same month! The Samsung C&T Resort Division is hosting a dedicated festival for the loveable panda family called the “Bao Family Birthday Festa” at Everland from July 1 to August 4 to celebrate this special occasion.
The festival will be an extra special celebration for panda twins Rui Bao and Hui Bao, who are celebrating their first birthday this July! Fans of the iconic panda duo can wish the one-year-old cubs a happy birthday. Panda fans can also show support for the twins’ older sister, Fu Bao, who started a new chapter of her life in China earlier this year.
You're Invited to a Traditional Korean Panda Party
Everland’s Panda World will become the party destination of the summer, where you can join in on the special birthday festivities for the Bao family!
July 7th marks the first birthday of panda twins Rui Bao and Hui Bao. Panda World will celebrate the milestone occasion in traditional Korean style with a first birthday party known as a “doljanchi” in Korean.
Zookeepers will also host a traditional “doljabi” ceremony, where the one-year-old pandas will be placed in front of items that symbolize different paths for their future. Some of the items include a ball representing talent, a microphone representing popularity, and a gavel representing honor.
When their older sister, Fu Bao, celebrated her first birthday, she selected a loaf of bread that pandas love to eat, which symbolizes happiness. Considering the amount of joy Fu Bao continues to bring to fans despite now living abroad, it is clear that she is fulfilling her destiny of bringing happiness to others.
If you can’t visit Everland in person on July 7, don’t worry! The twins’ birthday party will be live streamed on Everland’s YouTube channel at 9:30 a.m. KST, so be sure to tune in!
What about Fu Bao?
Unfortunately, the lovable Fu Bao, who also has a birthday in July, won’t be able to join in with the Bao family celebrations. However, Panda World will be decorated with a bamboo cake in her honor to ensure visitors can celebrate Fu Bao, too!
Bao Birthday Events for Panda Lovers
From July 1 to 8, the first 10,000 Everland visitors to arrive each day will receive a special Bao family badge to commemorate the panda birthday celebrations. Additionally, if you visit Everland dressed in a panda-themed outfit on a Bao family member’s birthday, you can win a special photo card as a gift!
There will also be an online quiz for super fans to prove their love and knowledge of the pandas during weekends in July.
Bao House Enters a New Season!
To keep the festive spirit alive, Everland will transform into a giant birthday party venue decorated with photo zones, banners, and garlands, all on display from when you enter, until you arrive at Panda World!
The immersive “Bao House” gallery has entered “Season 2”, and highlights Ai Bao as the main character. The gallery features various themed rooms, including a panda nursery and a playroom, highlighting Ai Bao’s affection for her children.
Visitors can also see a selection of photos of Ai Bao selected by zookeepers. They can also experience Bao family photo zones like family photo walls and mirror selfies. Visitors can also reminisce about Fu Bao by visiting a recreation of her home, which features the hammock and signpost she once used.
Don't Leave Empty-Handed!
To commemorate the Bao family birthday festivities, visitors can purchase exclusive Bao Family Merchandise, including plush toys, a music box, and a snow globe, which will all be available at Everland gift shops. Ai Bao’s Dessert Cafe will also launch two new cakes.
Furthermore, in collaboration with Samsung.com, participants can complete online missions related to the Bao family and download a set of five Bao family photo cards, which puts them in the running to win some exciting prizes.
