- Everland’s capybara triplets, born to Dotom and Dutum on September 28, are healthy and growing under the care of their mother and the park’s animal team
- The babies are expected to meet visitors at Ppuppa Town from October 15, with a naming contest and other celebratory programs also planned

Three tiny new faces have joined Everland’s capybara family. The triplets were born on September 28 to Dotom and Dutum, a pair born in 2024, and are now two weeks old.
Each baby weighed about one kilogram at birth. They are healthy, nursing from their mother and growing with attentive care from Everland’s veterinary team and zookeepers. Visitors are expected to meet the family at Ppuppa Town starting October 15.
A Gentle Nature, from the Very Beginning
Capybaras are native to areas around rivers and wetlands in South America. They are the largest living rodents, with an average lifespan of about 10 years. After a gestation period of around four to five months, they usually give birth to several babies at once.
Even as newborns, capybaras are ready to explore: they are born with fur, their eyes open and the ability to walk soon after birth.
Their round ears, blunt noses and famously unhurried expressions have made them much-loved “healing animals.” Online, videos of capybaras comfortably spending time with all kinds of animals, including ducks, turtles and monkeys, have earned them affectionate nicknames such as “social butterflies of the animal world.”
Everland visitors may also know capybaras for their love of a warm soak. At the park’s zoo, they have become a favorite sight as they settle into warm water and lounge as if enjoying a hot spring.
Meet the Family at Ppuppa Town
The triplets are expected to venture out with their parents at Ppuppa Town from October 15. Everland will keep a close eye on their health and how they adjust to their surroundings, and will adjust the viewing time and location as needed.
To mark their arrival, Everland plans to invite visitors to suggest names that suit each baby’s personality. The park is also preparing a range of online and in-person programs so guests can celebrate the new family and enjoy the capybaras’ gentle charm.
An Everland spokesperson said, “We are taking loving care of the mother and babies so the newest members of our family can grow up healthy and strong. We hope the capybara family’s warm and peaceful presence brings a little laughter and comfort to many people’s daily lives.”
