In fact, recent auto shows and large tech events such as CES 2023 were filled with advances that point to the electrification of vehicles. Having reached 18.1 million units in 2022, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.einnews.com\/pr_news\/616748230\/electric-vehicle-ev-market-report-2023-size-148-4-million-units-share-growth-cagr-41-2-outlook-2028\">the global EV market<\/a>\n is set to see 148.4 million units by 2028.<\/p><p>Despite this apparent success story for EVs, numerous myths still surround them. Even if EV battery technologies are constantly developing, there have also been global concerns about the continuous need to mine resources in order to produce new EV batteries.<\/p><p>But that\u2019s where we should highlight the importance of battery recycling, which Samsung C&amp;T Trading &amp; Investment Group is involved in. The company focuses on supplying resources like nickel and cobalt recovered from used batteries to secondary battery manufacturers as well as to other businesses.<\/p><p>Such efforts look set to bear plenty of fruit going forward &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/pubs.acs.org\/doi\/10.1021\/acs.est.0c07030\">research shows<\/a> that recycled batteries could provide over half the cobalt, lithium, and nickel needed for new EV batteries within two decades.
