Commissioned by QatarEnergy, the 2,000MW Dukhan Solar Power Project represents the largest capacity solar facility ever undertaken by a Korean construction company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project carries an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) value of KRW 1.46 trillion and will be built in Dukhan, 80 kilometers west of Doha. Spanning 27\u33a2\u2014equivalent to 3,790 football fields\u2014the massive site will be fitted with 2.74 million solar panels. Upon completion in 2030, the plant will generate enough electricity to power approximately 750,000 households, even considering Qatar\u2019s high per-capita energy use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A signing ceremony was held with top executives from both companies, including the Group\u2019s President &amp; CEO Se-chul Oh and Saad Al-Kaabi, Qatar\u2019s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and CEO of QatarEnergy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Building on Trust and Innovation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Samsung C&amp;T E&amp;C will manage the project from design through construction, implementing cutting-edge solutions to maximize efficiency. These include solar tracking systems that follow the sun\u2019s path to optimize power generation, as well as advanced inverters designed to perform reliably under the extreme desert climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is a cornerstone of \u201cQatar National Vision 2030,\u201d the country\u2019s long-term plan to accelerate energy transition through renewable energy adoption. Following the announcement of the project in 2023, international bidding was carried out earlier this year, with the Group ultimately selected based on its proven performance and optimal proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This contract builds on Samsung C&amp;T E&amp;C Group\u2019s successful delivery of previous solar facilities in Ras Laffan and Mesaieed, which together total 875MW of capacity.
