The agreement, signed on December 11 in Seoul with SGE Chairman Micha\u0142 So\u0142owow, CEO Rafa\u0142 Kaspr\u00f3w, and Samsung C&amp;T President and CEO Se-chul Oh in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Driving Poland\u2019s First SMR and a 24-Unit Deployment Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>SGE is leading Poland\u2019s national SMR initiative and plans to deploy up to 24 units of the BWRX-300\u2014a next-generation Small Modular Reactor\u2014by the early 2030s, including the country\u2019s first SMR power plant. The company also aims to expand SMR projects into Czechia, Hungary, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Romania, reflecting the region\u2019s increasing demand for stable and sustainable low-carbon energy solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The BWRX-300, developed by GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy, is a 300-MW boiling water reactor (BWR) SMR designed to enhance construction efficiency through modularization and simplified systems. The technology is already advancing toward deployment: construction is underway at Ontario Power Generation in Canada, the first SMR project in the Western market to enter the build phase, and Sweden\u2019s state-owned utility Vattenfall has selected the BWRX-300 as the final candidates for expansion at the Ringhals nuclear site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this partnership, Samsung C&amp;T becomes part of one of Europe\u2019s largest private-sector SMR development programs, positioning the Group to contribute to long-term energy transition efforts across Central and Eastern Europe.
