The Construction Group, meanwhile, has built high-tech Samsung C&amp;T Villages in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.samsungcnt.com\/en\/samsung-ct-villages-stepping-stones-shared-future\/\">Indonesia, India and Vietnam<\/a>, providing shelter and clean water for hundreds of residents. The Fashion Group\u2019s volunteer-run\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.samsungcnt.com\/en\/hearts-and-arts-make-difference-at-heartist-house-3\/\">Heartist House<\/a>\u00a0allows designers, artists and other creative types to donate their talents to the needy. And the Resort Group\u2019s ongoing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.samsungcnt.com\/en\/landscaping-pros-give-historic-site-preservation-boost\/\">collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea<\/a>\u00a0has helped restore many of the country\u2019s most important historical and cultural sites.<\/p><p>In this landmark 80<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0year, the groups have also stepped up community-building drives in their home country \u2013 South Korea \u2013 with a range of volunteer efforts. Air purifiers are widely available, but can be prohibitively expensive to purchase and operate for low-income households. The purifiers consume just 2.4W every eight hours, meaning they cost a mere US$ 0.50 a year to run. Thanks to the team\u2019s efforts, cleaner air is no longer an unaffordable luxury for low-income households in Songpa.<\/p><p>Jie-eun Chung, Senior Associate of the group\u2019s Fine Chemicals Part and one of the volunteers, says, \u201cI\u2019m grateful to have had the opportunity to do something for a good cause. Working side-by-side with colleagues on this project was a delight.\u201d<\/p><p>Employees who missed out in the air purifier drive were able to join the Share Lunch Concert, a classical music recital held during the company\u2019s lunch hour. But for senior citizens living on their own, this can be a daunting challenge. Thick blankets can be heavy, and washing them can be quite a chore.<\/p><p>The Construction Group decided to lend a hand. A number of the group\u2019s employees helped elderly residents of the Gangdong-gu District of Seoul with their spring cleaning efforts. Lee says, \u201cI know everyone at the company is very busy, but it\u2019s great that we all found the time to give something back to the local community and help those in need. It\u2019s great that everyone got involved \u2013 from executives to recent hires.\u201d<\/p><p>Construction Group employees also took part in an air purifier-making drive. Like the Trading Group, the Construction Group staff made purifiers that cost relatively little to operate, and used recycled materials. They then delivered these to elderly residents, along with their clean blankets.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3dd2a04 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3dd2a04\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Aromatic Assistance<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c49a855 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c49a855\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Spring is also a time to enjoy some of nature\u2019s finest bounties \u2013 flowers and blooming buds in lush green gardens. However, if you live in the heart of Seoul, one of the biggest cities in the world, it is not always easy to see budding trees and sweet-smelling flowers.<\/p><p>Gangnam has won a reputation for being one of the chicest and most affluent parts of the entire country. Many of its apartment complexes feature ornate, well-kept gardens and flower beds. Cheol-kyoo Park, the Executive Vice President of the group\u2019s Merchandising Unit, explains, \u201cThis was a very meaningful day. I hope the garden we created for the local community today will serve as a comfort-bringing rest area for residents.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d4068c8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d4068c8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Remarkable Restoration<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4fc8f18 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4fc8f18\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Springtime gardening was also the theme of the Resort Group\u2019s March project. The group has been working with the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea for five years. A grand total of 2,066 employees have helped on preservation and restoration efforts at some of Korea\u2019s biggest historical landmarks, including four former royal palaces and two notable shrines.<\/p><p>In the warmer months, Seoul residents (including many young students) flock to these important historical sites to learn about their country\u2019s past. This year, they will be able to appreciate floral delights as well as historical wonders, thanks in no small part to a group of 50 Resort Group employees.
