Across departments ranging from hydrogen procurement and real estate development to architectural design and quality control, international team members bring fresh perspectives, technical insight, and a strong spirit of learning.

Their roles are diverse, but their experiences are connected by a common thread: adapting to new environments, embracing teamwork, and contributing meaningfully to the Group’s vision. As these employees support Samsung C&T E&C’s global strategy, their stories offer a glimpse into how inclusion and innovation work hand in hand.

Supporting Projects Across a Changing Industry Landscape

In a rapidly evolving construction and energy landscape, team members across Samsung C&T E&C contribute in ways that reflect both their growing expertise and the support of their colleagues. In the Renewable Energy Group, Gayle Carabeo helps maintain a vendor pool of more than 3,600 suppliers, assisting with sourcing efforts for new areas such as hydrogen and ammonia. While still building experience in the field, she supports her team by ensuring supplier data is managed effectively and learning about the procurement process for clean energy projects.

On the real estate side, Desmy Lee is part of the Global Business Development team, where she assists with investment reviews, financial modeling, and partnership discussions. While senior team members lead negotiations and strategic planning, she contributes by supporting market research and participating in internal reviews to help evaluate potential projects. In the Quality Division, Judith Gamez works with her team to review audit reports and track data from remicon production. Since joining the quality division, Judith mentions developing a deeper understanding of how consistent processes and strong team work are essential for maintaining high standards across every project.

In architectural design, Gamaleldin Tarakhan supports the Product Design Team on Raemian apartment projects. Drawing on his academic background and design interest, he contributes to the development of design materials and supports the team’s work on layout and finish concepts. His involvement in early-stage testing, including the “THE NEXT HOME Test-Bed” project, allows him to explore design trends and support the team’s efforts to enhance the resident experience.

Cross-Border Collaboration and Communication in Practice

At Samsung C&T E&C, team members from various backgrounds are contributing to cross-functional collaboration across departments, languages, and work styles. As they support supplier communications, prepare internal materials, and take part in project reviews, they are actively developing their communication skills while working closely with colleagues in a global environment.

Gayle contributes to daily procurement activities by helping respond to questions from both local and overseas suppliers. While new to the role, she shared that resolving issues and learning through hands-on experience has been a meaningful part of her development. Meanwhile, Desmy supports the team’s investment analysis and internal reviews. She noted that colleagues often take the time to guide her through how to structure information more clearly, helping her gradually gain confidence in contributing to complex project discussions.

Across teams, collaboration happens not only through formal processes but also in the quiet, everyday moments. Checking in with teammates, sharing insights, and helping each other problem-solve fosters an environment where employees can grow into their roles while supporting the collective progress of their teams.

Integrating into Korean Work Culture and Life

Adjusting to a new work culture can be a significant part of settling into any role, especially in a Group with a strong sense of structure and tradition. At Samsung C&T E&C, team members with diverse backgrounds are learning how to balance this transition while growing in their roles.

Some have been in Korea for several years, while others are still adapting to life in a new country. Many point to small but meaningful routines that help maintain balance—whether it’s exercising after work, taking walks during breaks, or setting clear boundaries between work and personal time. For Gayle, joining the Group’s dance club has provided not only a creative outlet, but also a way to meet new people and feel more connected to the broader organization. Desmy emphasized the value of getting outdoors or heading to the gym to reset and recharge, especially during busier periods. Judith shared that good time management and staying active have helped her maintain a steady rhythm in both work and daily life.

The Group’s workplace environment also plays a role in supporting this adjustment. From flexible working hours to inclusive meal options in the cafeteria, employees are finding ways to feel comfortable and cared for as they navigate both professional and cultural transitions.

Fostering Growth Through Inclusion and Collaboration

As Samsung C&T E&C continues to take on new challenges in construction, energy, and design, its ability to grow is closely tied to the people behind each project. While many employees are still early in their careers, they are steadily gaining experience and finding ways to support their teams in meaningful ways.

Through everyday collaboration, hands-on learning, and the willingness to adapt, team members from various backgrounds are not only developing new skills but also helping to build a culture rooted in shared goals. Whether contributing to procurement, design development, investment analysis, or quality reporting, they are learning how their individual efforts connect to the bigger picture.

By fostering an environment where curiosity is encouraged and support is readily offered, Samsung C&T E&C is helping its workforce grow.
