Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group has once again demonstrated its leadership in residential landscape design. At the 2025 IFLA Asia-Pacific Region Landscape Architecture Awards, organized by the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), the Group earned two major accolades: the Award of Excellence for Raemian One Pentas in Seoul and the Honourable Mention for Raemian Forestige in Busan.
This achievement follows the Group’s Honourable Mention for Raemian One Bailey in 2024, recognized for its refined residential landscape design in Seoul. The year before, the Group received the Outstanding Award for the 2023 Nature Gallery project, a public landscape near Raemian Gallery in Songpa District that was praised for its “nature as it is” philosophy and long-term sustainability.
Designing Spaces for Comfort and Connection
At Raemian One Pentas, Samsung C&T applied a resident-centered design that harmonizes comfort, community, and ecology. The development’s signature sunken garden shelters residents from strong river winds while providing a calm and private space for rest.
Lush green areas and water features were carefully planned to reflect the ecological characteristics of the shaded terrain. An advanced drainage system prevents flooding, while integrated community facilities support social connection and ease of use. The result is a space where design and function meet to enhance everyday living.
From the early planning stages, the design team also made efforts to preserve a mature zelkova tree that existed on the site before redevelopment. By incorporating it into the site layout and using the natural height differences to form rest areas, the team maintained both ecological continuity and spatial efficiency.

Bringing Heritage and Ecology Together
At Raemian Forestige in Busan, Samsung C&T drew inspiration from the surrounding natural heritage of Geumsaem Spring and Geumjeong Mountain’s “Eight Scenic Views.” The project incorporates sculptural elements and themed gardens that reinterpret these local motifs into a modern residential context.
The development’s rain garden is a defining feature, a dry stream that transforms into an ecological pond during rainfall. This adaptable landscape supports biodiversity and creates a refreshing visual element that changes with the seasons. By connecting residents to nature’s rhythms, Raemian Forestige exemplifies a landscape design that is both functional and poetic.
Continuing a Legacy of Global Recognition
With this year’s honors, Samsung C&T E&C Group has now received a total of 15 IFLA awards, the most in Korea’s construction industry. Over the years, the Group has been recognized for a wide range of projects, from apartment landscapes to public buildings, parks, and landscape management systems, reflecting its versatility and expertise across the field.
The 2023 Nature Gallery project marked a turning point, earning Samsung C&T its first-ever Outstanding Award at IFLA for its approach to sustainability and accessibility. That same philosophy—designing with sensitivity to time, place, and people—continues in Raemian One Pentas and Raemian Forestige.
“Winning these awards further demonstrates the global recognition of Raemian’s landscape excellence,” said Myungseok Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Housing Division. “We will continue to enhance the Raemian brand experience through design innovation and elevated living environments.”
