- Korea’s first twin giant pandas, Rui Bao and Hui Bao, are scheduled to move from Everland to China in the third week of December, ahead of reaching breeding age
- Everland is preparing for the twins’ safe move and plans to hold farewell programs where visitors can look back on memories with Rui Bao and Hui Bao and send their support for their new beginning

Twin giant pandas Rui Bao and Hui Bao are preparing for a new chapter.
Everland, operated by Samsung C&T Resort Group, announced on September 30 that the twins, who currently live at Panda Second House, are scheduled to move to China in the third week of December.
Born at Everland in July 2023, Rui Bao and Hui Bao have grown up together under the care of Everland’s panda keepers. Their upcoming move comes as part of the international framework for giant panda conservation, under which giant pandas born outside China are required to move to China before they turn four, when they reach breeding age.
Preparing for the Twins’ Next Chapter
Everland has been working closely with the China Wildlife Conservation Association and the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda to help ensure that Rui Bao and Hui Bao can make the transition to China at an appropriate time.
The exact departure date and destination have not yet been finalized. These details will be determined after taking into account a range of factors, including the twins’ health, weather conditions and circumstances at their destination.
As with their older sister Fu Bao, Rui Bao and Hui Bao will enter approximately one month of health and quarantine management before their move. Everland will provide further information on their public viewing schedule and other arrangements related to the quarantine process once details are confirmed.
A Farewell Together With Visitors
Ahead of their departure, Everland will make thorough preparations to support the twins’ safe journey to China.
The park is also planning a series of farewell programs that will give visitors an opportunity to look back on memories with Rui Bao and Hui Bao and send their support as the twins prepare for their next chapter.
“Until the day of their departure, we will continue to care for Rui Bao and Hui Bao attentively so that they can remain healthy and happy in their new environment,” an Everland representative said. “We hope many people will continue to show their warm support and interest as the twin pandas embark on this new beginning.”
