Samsung C&T Trading & Investment Group’s Indonesian subsidiary, PT Inecda, has received the Riau Province’s Best Partner Award for Outstanding Collaboration with Local Small Businesses. The award was presented on August 19 at the 2025 Riau Investment Forum held at Dang Merdu Tower in Pekanbaru, with Riau Governor H. Abdul Wahid in attendance alongside government leaders, diplomats, palm plantation experts, palm oil companies, and academics.

Since its establishment in 2008, PT Inecda has placed the surrounding community at the heart of its operations. The recognition reflects years of initiatives supporting local enterprises, underscoring the company’s belief that sustainable growth comes from working hand in hand with society.

Empowering Communities Through Action

PT Inecda collaborates with 23 organizations and 35 businesses across five sub-districts and 15 villages in Indragiri Hulu, offering mentorship and resources to strengthen local capacity. Its programs span a wide spectrum of activities, including:

  • Providing livestock and agricultural equipment
  • Supporting the production and sale of traditional snacks and beverages
  • Backing corn cultivation and livestock waste management
  • Encouraging jewelry making and preserving culture through traditional batik garment production
  • These projects are designed to give communities tools for self-reliance, creating opportunities for small enterprises to grow and thrive.

Following the award, PT Inecda Director Hendri T. noted, “Community empowerment has become a core program of PT Inecda. This recognition will encourage us to continue and expand activities that support both organizations and individuals in our operating region.”

Creating Pathways for Local Enterprise

Beyond mentoring and technical assistance, PT Inecda has also developed a small business support kiosk where products from community enterprises are marketed and sold. From traditional snacks and drinks to handmade crafts and garments, the kiosk highlights how business and community can flourish together.

Through such initiatives, PT Inecda helps local artisans and small-scale producers move beyond survival, supporting them in building sustainable livelihoods that benefit the wider Riau region.

Commitment to Sustainable Growth

Samsung C&T Trading & Investment Group entered the palm plantation business in Indonesia in 2008 and now manages about 20,000 hectares on Sumatra Island.

Looking forward, the company will continue to strengthen partnerships with local communities and contribute to regional development through both responsible business practices and community-focused programs.
