- Everland is inviting the public to suggest a name for its newest baby panda, who has grown from 171 grams to approximately 1.4 kilograms in her first month
- Rui Bao and Hui Bao are beginning a six-region travel campaign with the Korea Tourism Organization, featuring regional destinations, travel experiences, and limited-edition merchandise

Everland, operated by Samsung C&T Resort Group, is inviting the public to help name its newest baby panda as twin pandas Rui Bao and Hui Bao begin a nationwide travel campaign with the Korea Tourism Organization.
Born at Panda World on June 3, the youngest member of the Bao family has grown more than eightfold in her first month and is now entering a more stable stage of development. Meanwhile, Rui Bao and Hui Bao are preparing to visit six regions across Korea through a campaign that connects the twins’ story with local destinations, festivals, specialties, and travel experiences.
Together, the two programs offer panda fans new ways to follow the Bao family, from taking part in the youngest cub’s naming process to joining Rui Bao and Hui Bao on their journey around Korea.
A Name for the Youngest Member of the Bao Family
Ai Bao gave birth to the female cub at 10:53 a.m. on June 3. The daughter of Ai Bao and Le Bao follows Fu Bao, born in 2020, and twin pandas Rui Bao and Hui Bao, born in 2023, as the fourth female giant panda to be born in Korea through natural breeding.
As with Fu Bao, Rui Bao, and Hui Bao, Everland plans to choose the newest cub’s name with public participation. Fu Bao’s name means “treasure that brings happiness,” while Rui Bao means “wise treasure” and Hui Bao means “shining treasure.”
The naming event began on July 13, which is also Ai Bao’s birthday, and will remain open for one week. Participants can submit a name and its meaning in the comments of naming event posts shared through Everland’s official YouTube and Instagram channels, the PPUPPA TV: Animal World channels, and the Zootopia Naver Cafe. Details on the final selection process and the announcement of the chosen name will be shared at a later date.
“The youngest baby panda, the sixth member of the Bao family, is growing well with the love and support of the public,” said Cheol-won Kang, zookeeper at Everland. “We hope everyone will give her a meaningful name that suits her perfectly.”
Healthy Growth in Her First Month
During a health check conducted in early July, the baby panda weighed approximately 1.4 kilograms. Compared to her birth weight of 171 grams, she has grown to more than eight times her original weight in just over one month.
Giant pandas are generally born in an underdeveloped state and typically weigh only around 150 to 200 grams. Because survival rates can be low during the earliest stage of life, panda cubs are usually given names after their health has become more stable.
Since birth, the baby panda has spent most of her time in Ai Bao’s arms. More recently, she has begun sleeping separately from her mother, showing that she is continuing to develop in line with her growth stage. Giant pandas generally begin crawling on all four legs at around three months of age. By approximately six months, they begin eating bamboo and become capable of climbing trees. Everland will continue closely monitoring the cub’s health and adjustment before deciding when she will be introduced to visitors at Panda World.
Everland will continue sharing updates on the baby panda’s growth through the Everland YouTube channel, PPUPPA tv : animal world YouTube channel, and the Zootopia Naver Cafe. Through these channels, panda fans will be able to follow her early milestones as she continues growing under Ai Bao’s care.
Rui Bao and Hui Bao Begin a Nationwide Journey
While their youngest sister continues her early development at Panda World, Rui Bao and Hui Bao are beginning a nationwide travel campaign with the Korea Tourism Organization.
Everland and the Korea Tourism Organization signed a memorandum of understanding on July 9 at the organization’s headquarters in Wonju, Gangwon Province, for the joint “Rui and Hui’s Every Corner of Korea” campaign. The campaign will continue through the end of the year, with both organizations using their digital channels to introduce regional travel content through the twins’ story.
Born at Everland on July 7, 2023, Rui Bao and Hui Bao recently celebrated their third birthday. The campaign is built around a story in which the twins travel across Korea and create lasting memories before moving to China ahead of their fourth birthday.
The Korea Tourism Organization’s Every Corner of Korea platform will be connected with Everland’s website and social media channels, allowing fans to follow the twins’ journey while learning more about the destinations and experiences featured in each region.
Travel Stories Across Six Regions
The campaign divides Korea into six regions: Jeolla, Chungcheong, Jeju, Gyeongsang, Gangwon, and Seoul and Gyeonggi. A different region will be featured each month, with local attractions, festivals, and specialties incorporated into Rui Bao and Hui Bao’s travel story.
Each stage of the campaign will include limited-edition merchandise inspired by the featured destination. Fans will also be encouraged to visit the regions and take part in Korea Tourism Organization programs such as the Digital Tourism Resident Card and Half-Price Travel.
A nationwide stamp rally will connect major tourism locations across the six regions, while additional collaboration merchandise reflecting the character of each region will be introduced throughout the campaign.

The twins’ first destination is the Jeolla region, the hometown of Kang Cheol-won, widely known to panda fans as “Panda Grandpa.” The first travel story features Gochang, an area known for its watermelons, through a rural summer vacation concept inspired by the region’s seasonal scenery.
The Gochang-themed campaign has already received a positive response from panda fans. Rui-Hui travel companion dolls, which feature the twins dressed in travel outfits, quickly sold out during an online shopping livestream.

Following Jeolla, the campaign will continue through Chungcheong, Jeju, Gyeongsang, Gangwon, and Seoul and Gyeonggi. Everland zookeepers Kang Cheol-won, Song Young-kwan, and Oh Seung-hee will participate as regional ambassadors, introducing the distinctive attractions and experiences found in each area.
Through the campaign, the Korea Tourism Organization aims to introduce the lesser-known appeal of regional destinations to a wider audience. Everland also plans to support domestic tourism while creating new memories for Rui Bao, Hui Bao, and the fans who have followed their story in Korea.
