Everland’s new study reveals that its new rose variety called the “Ever-rose” provides anti-aging and antioxidant benefits, as published in an academic journal recognized by the SCIE. Since 2013, Everland has developed 37 new varieties of roses and is dedicated to detailed research and striving for excellence.
Everland Resort announced the release of a research paper that studied the “anti-aging and antioxidant” effects of its breed of rose called the “Ever-rose.” The journal was published in the globally renowned SCIE-level academic journal “Chemical and Biological Technologies in Agriculture.”
Collaborative Research Effort
Everland’s study was conducted in partnership with Cosmax, a global cosmetics ODM (Original Design Manufacturer), to validate the anti-aging and antioxidant effects of new varieties of Everland’s roses that are developed in-house. The results of the testing and verification were also published with researchers from Kyung Hee University and Konkuk University.
Everland began its research by hypothesizing that new varieties of rose with excellent pest resistance may have anti-photoaging and antioxidant effects. The extract from the Ever-rose was deemed to be the best for the study. Everland’s “Perfume Everscape,” which was a top prize winner and recipient of the most pest and disease-tolerant rose prize at the 2022 International Rose Competition in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, also contains anti-aging and antioxidant ingredients.
The Anti-Aging Properties of Roses
Rose is a natural antioxidant that helps strengthen skin cells and regenerate tissue. Roses are also widely used in cosmetics and as an ingredient in health foods.
Professor Kim Kyung-Sook from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Kyung Hee University College of Medicine said, “Perfume Everscape has been confirmed to have excellent anti-aging properties, as it contains several types of polyphenols and flavonoids that have excellent antioxidant functions and anti-aging effects.”
Everland’s Dedication to Roses
Everland, which has been holding rose festivals since its inaugural festival in 1985, began promoting the domestic production of roses in 2013. Since 2013, Everland’s Rosarians have developed 37 new varieties of roses by conducting more than 1,500 breeding studies per year.
Everland recently signed a contract with Japan to export two new cultivars of roses, “Perfume Everscape” and “Garden Everscape,” and is in the process of registering for cultivar protection in Japan.
“We are conducting in-depth research to introduce more fragrant and healthy roses to our customers,” said Everland’s Ha Ho-Su, who oversees Everland’s development of new rose varieties, adding, “We strive to utilize the excellent characteristics of our domestically produced roses for various applications.”
