Building Camaraderie and Success

A strong office culture, rooted in professional drive and personal connection, fuels success at the Sydney branch. As Head of the Samsung C&T Sydney branch and SREA, Brandon Sungmin Park describes the journey as transformative since joining in 2021. “When I joined, the team was just three people. But with our growing business opportunities, we’ve expanded to fourteen.” This growth journey has inspired a culture of camaraderie—exemplified by team activities like their annual Yutnori tournament, a traditional board game played during Korea’s mid-autumn harvest festival (Chuseok). This celebration brings everyone together, helping them stay connected and motivated as a team.

Park’s leadership approach has some unique touches, such as playing the song “Go Aussie Go” after successful deals and carefully curating a welcoming office atmosphere. In the newly renovated space, elements like the Insight Lounge—a relaxed area for collaboration—foster a sense of belonging while keeping everyone focused on common goals.

Pushing Forward with Solar Power and Beyond

The Sydney branch’s efforts have already led to milestones in the Australian market. This year, SREA’s Dunmore Project, a solar development initiative, successfully secured critical development approvals. The team is excited to see their work making a tangible impact in the renewable energy field.

Beyond solar energy, this August, the Sydney branch finalized a deal to export phosphate to Asian regions including India, leveraging regional resources and market demand. As Park notes, “Australia has abundant resources, but unlocking their potential requires dedication and toil—a value the entire team embodies.”
