Caribbean Bay is a popular destination during the summer and is one of Korea’s top water parks. Did you know that Caribbean Bay is also popular in winter when its outdoor pools transform into outdoor hot springs? When the winter season comes around, the large-scale water park turns its indoor and outdoor spas and pools into a winter oasis for relaxation and family fun! This year, Caribbean Bay’s “Winter Spa Cabi” theme has a unique Nordic touch and features Moomin-inspired outdoor hot springs, Finnish-style barrel saunas, a heated lazy river, and various spa facilities.

A Cozy Nordic Spa Experience with the Moomins

Caribbean Bay has transformed into ‘Winter Spa Cabi,’ offering a unique winter waterpark experience in collaboration with the Moomins. The Moomins from Moominvalley are the main characters from the beloved children’s book series written and illustrated by Finnish author Tove Jansson. The first Moomin book was published in 1945, and its characters are still beloved by fans worldwide almost eighty years later!

Experience Relaxing Finnish-Style Outdoor Barrel Saunas

One of the exciting features of Winter Spa Cabi at Caribbean Bay at the outdoor barrel saunas that enhance the authentic spa experience. There is a row of portable outdoor wooden saunas that look like the ones you might see in the Finnish countryside. Each sauna has two wooden bench seats inside for a relaxing sauna experience! Forget about your winter boots and jackets for the day and retreat to one of Caribbean Bay’s outdoor barrel saunas!

Relax in an Outdoor Hot Spring with Moomin and Friends

If you are looking for a must-do winter spa experience in Korea this December, Caribbean Bay has just the thing! The highlight of Caribbean Bay’s winter experience is the Outdoor Adventure Spa, designed around the story of the Moomin family visiting for a winter holiday. Guests can enjoy hot spring pools surrounded by Moomin-themed sculptures, including Moomin, Snorkmaiden, and the Hattifatteners, alongside Nordic-inspired facades and winter-themed photo spots.

Caribbean Bay’s Lazy River Gets a Moominvalley Makeover

For those who love the Lazy River, the 550-meter-long course is fully operational and features Moomin-themed signs and guides. Following these guides will lead visitors to the indoor Cave Spa, equipped with hot tubs, foot baths, saunas, and serene relaxation areas. Newly decorated in white tones for the Moomin collaboration, the Cave Spa provides a photogenic setting with Moomin sculptures and winter trees. Float along in an inflatable tube ring or let the current carry you along for the ride!

Savor Winter Treats and Capture Instagram-Worthy Moments

A range of delicious snacks await visitors at Caribbean Bay this winter. At the Harbor Master Restaurant, near the Outdoor Adventure Spa, the Moomin Fishcake Bar offers warm snacks like fishcake skewers, fish balls, baked eggs, and hot sake. The Fiesta Restaurant serves chef-specialty dishes like jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce), pork cutlets, and rice bowls, while the newly added Coffee Bean café offers an array of beverages.

Explore Both Caribbean Bay and Everland in One Day!

Running until March 3, 2024, the “2 Park Event” allows visitors to enjoy Caribbean Bay and Everland in one day. After 3 PM, Caribbean Bay visitors can access Everland for free. Alternatively, visitors starting their day at Everland can purchase the EVER 2 CABI package via the Everland mobile app for discounted tickets, including free entry to Caribbean Bay (only available for visitors with a Korean credit card).

Next door at Everland, a theme park also operated by Caribbean Bay’s parent company Samsung C&T Resort Group, there is another Moomin-themed event happening this winter. Wintertopia with Moomin features immersive experiences with the Moomins including a Moominvalley-themed garden, giant sculptures, attractions, and plenty of photo opportunities, running until March 3, 2025. There is also an unmissable “Christmas Fantasy” performance and Christmas parade happening until December 31 for the festive season in Korea.
