Robots at Your Doorstep: Samsung C&T Innovates Residential Living

After successfully piloting robotic delivery services last year, Samsung C&T Engineering and Construction (E&C) Group is now actively expanding services across Raemian apartment complexes in Seoul, South Korea. With robot services such as “Deli-Pick Me” and “Carry Robot,” the company continues to redefine urban living convenience for residents.

Samsung C&T E&C Group is leading innovation in residential living through robotic delivery services. The Group is moving beyond initial pilot projects into active, everyday services at its Raemian apartment complexes in Seoul, South Korea. By partnering with autonomous robotics companies like Neubility and Watt, Samsung C&T is demonstrating real-life scenarios where robots improve convenience, safety, and enjoyment for residents.

Deli-Pick Me: Redefining Door-to-Door Delivery

“Deli-Pick Me” is a delivery robot initially piloted in collaboration with Neubility in 2020 at the Raemian Leaders One apartment complex in the Gangnam area of Seoul. Today, it provides residents seamless deliveries from nearby restaurants and stores through a dedicated messaging channel via KakaoTalk, Korea’s leading messaging platform.

Employing sophisticated autonomous navigation technology—including multi-camera V-SLAM mapping and AI object recognition—Deli-Pick Me effortlessly manages complex indoor and outdoor routes, crossing sidewalks, busy intersections, elevators, and residential hallways.

An infographic illustrating the Deli-Pick-Me robot delivery service process. The visual flow shows five steps: (1) placing an order via KakaoTalk, (2) the robot picking up food from a nearby restaurant, (3) autonomous travel to the user's apartment complex, (4) navigating obstacles such as busy roads, escalators, and hallways, and (5) delivering the food at the user's door, where it is collected with a confirmation code. The path of the delivery is marked with a blue dotted line, and small robot icons with orange flags represent Deli-Pick-Me at different stages.

Initially providing deliveries to ground floor entrances, the service has expanded to deliver directly to apartment doors. This is a first in Korea among construction and tech giants. This service enhancement significantly increased resident satisfaction. Delivery convenience is now paired with the novelty of interacting with autonomous robots, a delightful experience for families with young children.

Building upon this pilot’s success, Samsung C&T plans to extend Deli-Pick Me’s capabilities to parcel and personal item deliveries, progressively rolling out this innovative solution across existing and upcoming Raemian residential complexes nationwide.

Carry Robot: Simplifying Heavy Item Transport

Samsung C&T E&C Group has also introduced the “Carry Robot” service at the Raemian Seocho Estige S apartment complex, partnering with robot technology company ‘Watt.’ Specifically designed for transporting heavy personal items, residents use a simple smartphone interface to send Carry Robots directly to their apartment door or underground parking area.

Real-time tracking enhances ease of use, allowing residents to conveniently manage deliveries and pickups at preferred times. Carry Robots autonomously navigate through common areas and elevators, seamlessly avoiding objects and people. Residents have responded positively, appreciating both the convenience and effortless integration into their daily routines.

The Group plans to expand the Carry Robot service across its Raemian apartment complexes with the launch of a comprehensive, integrated robot service platform. This platform aims to unify management and user experience, facilitating future innovations and broadening residential robotics applications.

Pioneering the Future of Smart Urban Living

Building on successful pilot operations last year, Samsung C&T is actively broadening the scope of its robotic services to align with residents’ everyday needs. By rigorously evaluating the effectiveness, resident feedback, and technical capabilities of their robotic partners, Samsung C&T aims to solidify robotic services as a competitive advantage.

Samsung C&T E&C Group’s pioneering robotic services like Deli-Pick Me and Carry Robot represent a significant leap toward more innovative, safer, and more enjoyable urban living. As these robotic innovations continue to roll out across Korea, the Group reinforces its leadership in creating residential environments that combine practical convenience, advanced technology, and delightful living experiences.
