Food provides us warmth and comfort and often offers us consolation when we need it most. This year’s colors of the year are Mocha Mousse, Purple Basil, and Cinnamon Slate. As a flavor combination, we’re not sure how well these names pair, but as colors, they are the perfect mix of soft, rich, and comforting tones.

Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2025 is Mocha Mousse, a nurturing and rich color inspired by the comfort of chocolate and the most important meal of the day: dessert. Pantone has been operating its annual color of the year program since 1999 and calls on experts across entertainment, art, and fashion to find colors that best reflect the current global mood.
Mocha Mousse is a perfect in-between color for transitioning from winter to spring, with light turtlenecks, trench coats, and accessories championing this tone. Tones of browns and purples can be worn together for a monotone look or contrast with greens, pinks, and blues in the spring season for a pop of color!
Purple Basil
PPG Paints has declared Purple Basil as its color of the year in 2025. Sitting in the middle of grey and violet, Purple Basil is a warm and inviting color for your wardrobe and home living space.
