Mega Fun at the Mega Wave Festival

After last year’s big post-pandemic return, it is hard to imagine Caribbean Bay’s Mega Wave Festival getting even better, but Korea’s premier water amusement park is determined to keep thrilling its summer visitors more and more as they get wet and wild.

With the outdoor thrill rides Mega Storm, Tower Boomerang Go, and Aqua Loop already operating since the spring, Caribbean Bay began full summer operation with the opening of its water bobsleigh and surfing rides on July. The Mega Wave Festival is now in full swing and will continue until Aug. 15.

Watch out for the kraken!

A big part of this year’s Mega Wave Festival is the nightly Club Cabi (short for “Caribbean Bay”) Pool Party. Each evening, visitors to the water park can enjoy electronic dance music and hip-hop, among other styles, in the outdoor wave pool, while splashing and playing around in the cool water.

Famous local disc jockeys (DJs) such as Vandal Rock, Juncoco, and CREAM will make an appearance to spin some exciting tracks. On weekend evenings, famous singers and hip-hop artists will come on stage to thrill Caribbean Bay visitors.

Caribbean Bay has thrown open the doors to its Club Cabi for the Mega Wave Festival.
Last year’s visual centerpiece of the outdoor wave pool was a giant kraken figure on a special stage. A kraken is a legendary sea monster resembling an octopus. This year’s kraken is twice the size of last year’s, and in its 25-meter-long tentacles it clutches a pirate ship.
In front of the kraken is the special performance stage fitted with a water cannon and colorful lighting devices to make the party even more exciting.

Taking the best shots

Caribbean Bay is not just a place for cool water play and dancing below the kraken to awesome beats laid down by DJs. It is also a location for some of the summer’s best photos of yourself, your friends, and stunning scenery.
We already know about the kraken and its pirate ship prey. Besides that, throughout the water park there are fun and colorful photo spots. The giant letters spelling out the words Caribbean Bay, the bright beach chairs and parasols, and the palm trees and surfboards create the right vibe for creative and memorable summer holiday snapshots.
And right by the entrance to the outdoor wave pool, a selfie studio named Cabby Photo has been set up where Caribbean Bay fans can drop by to take some “body profile” photos, showing off their toned summer physiques in swimsuits.

Special guest DJs are visiting Club Cabi to lay down some amazing tunes for partygoers.

To add a touch of healing to the Mega Wave Festival, next to the outdoor lazy river is a 150-meter-long Hydrangea Road. Here these colorful summer flowers grow beside the water so that visitors can relax in a tire tube while floating by, enjoying the sight and scene of hydrangea.

Visible from the Lazy River, beautiful blue and pink hydrangeas line the aptly named Hydrangea Road.
