This spring, Everland is introducing a broader range of experiences, including the reopening of Safari World, new large-scale performances, and the ongoing Tulip Festival. Operated by Samsung C&T Resort Group, the park’s latest updates combine wildlife experiences, immersive entertainment, and seasonal gardens, offering visitors a full day-to-night spring outing.

Beginning April 1, the newly renewed Safari World returns with upgraded habitats designed around animal welfare and visitor immersion. Alongside the reopening, Everland is also launching two large-scale productions, The Guardians of Light and Wings of Memory, created in collaboration with leading Korean and international artists. Visitors can also enjoy the Tulip Festival, featuring around 1.2 million spring flowers across the park.

According to Samsung C&T Resort Group, more than 250,000 visitors have already attended the Tulip Festival during its first ten days, marking an increase of over 30% compared to the same period last year and highlighting Everland’s growing popularity as a spring destination.

A Wilder Safari World Returns

Safari World, one of Everland’s signature attractions since the park first opened in 1976, has been transformed into a more immersive ecological environment centered on animal welfare and visitor experience. Along with Lost Valley, the attraction has welcomed approximately 90 million visitors over the years.

Following about a year of preparation, the renewed Safari World introduces habitat-based storytelling and redesigned environments for eight predator species, including lions, tigers, brown bears, and hyenas.

New themed environments include a savanna grassland for lions, a predator forest for tigers, and a northern forest for brown bears. Waterfalls, ponds, trees, and enrichment structures have also been added to encourage more natural animal behavior and movement.

The visitor experience has also been upgraded with new eco-friendly EV buses replacing the previous tram system. Designed with animal themes such as lions, tigers, and Asiatic black bears, the new vehicles provide quieter rides while enhancing the immersive safari experience.

From themed waiting areas to merchandise zones, the entire Safari World experience has been redesigned. Visitors will encounter animal artwork, life-size graphics, and new merchandise inspired by animals living at Everland. A new plush adoption program will also allow guests to “adopt” safari-themed plush toys representing animals such as Korean tiger Down and lion Doba.

New World-Class Performances Debut This Spring

Alongside the renewed Safari World, Everland has introduced two large-scale performances this spring, offering visitors new daytime and nighttime entertainment experiences.

The Guardians of Light: A New Nighttime Spectacle

At Four Seasons Garden, The Guardians of Light now serves as Everland’s main nighttime finale. The approximately 20-minute multimedia show combines thousands of fireworks with drone formations, 3D visuals, immersive sound, laser mapping, and special effects, creating a large-scale nighttime spectacle.

The production is directed by acclaimed Korean performance director Jung-woong Yang, known for leading major national-scale productions including the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics opening ceremony and the 2025 APEC Summit cultural performance. The show also features collaborations with stage designer Eom-ji Lee, music director K-Hertz, and laser artist Je-ho Yoon, alongside the Prague Metropolitan Orchestra, which recorded the theme music in the Czech Republic.

Additional artists include singer 10CM’s Jung-yeol Kwon, who performs the main theme song, and actor Sang-yoon Lee, who provides the opening narration. The performance blends various music genres, from K-pop and EDM to musical soundtracks, delivered through an immersive sound system.

The story follows Everland’s Lenny and Friends characters, reimagined in a steampunk-inspired adventure to save Ever Garden. Large object drones, a 62-meter-wide screen, and garden lighting installations created in collaboration with British artist Bruce Munro further enhance the immersive nighttime experience.

Wings of Memory: A World-Class Circus

Wings of Memory is also now being presented twice daily at Everland’s Grand Stage theater, a dedicated indoor venue with approximately 1,000 seats. The approximately 40-minute production blends acrobatics, dance, video, music, and special effects into a theatrical circus performance.

The show was created in collaboration with Canadian circus company Cirque Éloize over approximately 18 months. Founded in 1993 in Quebec, the company has performed more than 7,000 shows in over 700 cities across 50 countries and is recognized as one of Canada’s leading circus production companies.

For the Everland production, 20 members of the creative team traveled to Korea to participate directly in development, with more than 20 artists appearing in the performance. Seven advanced circus disciplines, including contortion, aerial pole, Russian swing, Icarian games, fire performance, trickline, and trapeze, are featured throughout the show.

The story follows a protagonist named El, who enters a magical world guided by a mysterious swan and spirit. New stage devices such as a flying swan puppet and moving boat, along with projection mapping, ice fog, and 4K projectors, enhance the immersive experience.

Spring in Full Bloom at Everland

The Tulip Festival, running through April 30, features approximately 1.2 million spring flowers from more than 100 varieties, including tulips, daffodils, and muscari.

Under the theme My Spring Palette, Everland expanded tulip planting areas and enhanced garden displays. During the day, the Infinity Garden blends large LED visuals with real flower beds, while at night, lighting installations created in collaboration with British artist Bruce Munro transform the space into a nighttime garden.

Visitors can also enjoy photo zones, seasonal menus, spring merchandise, and additional experiences such as the plum blossom-themed Sky Garden Trail.

Everland noted that with the renewed Safari World, new world-class performances, and seasonal spring gardens, visitors can enjoy a wide range of experiences throughout the day.
