Korea’s premier theme park Everland and water park Caribbean Bay are open year-round. They are always attractive and fun places for individuals, couples, and families to visit. But this month there are three particularly good reasons to enjoy a day out there.
All aboard the Snow Buster
In winter, what can be more fun than whooshing down a snowy slope on some kind of sled? Until March 1, the Snow Buster at Everland is in full swing, providing hours of winter fun and excitement to sledding lovers of all ages. The Snow Buster has three courses. Firstly, there is the family course for groups with young children. Secondly, there is the racing course where you can pit yourself against your friends. And then there is the express course, where four people together can hop aboard a circular four-seater sled, and rush down a 200-meter slope facing each other. These alternatives make it possible for every budding sledder to choose their level of thrill intensity. Each course has automatic starting racks, tube-return conveyor belts, dedicated lanes, and shock-proof air bounces, so that everyone can have a convenient and safe snow sledding experience.
Winter Spa healing
There is something wonderfully soothing about soaking in a tub of steaming hot water on a cold winter’s day. And doing that outdoors under the cold air makes the experience even more special. Caribbean Bay water park has transformed into a Winter Spa. Right now, its Winter Spa cypress (Hinoki) bath zone is open, and it has been expanded into the outdoor adventure pool area. There are plenty of places to relax and enjoy all kinds of hot baths and saunas. Meanwhile, the park’s lazy river water ride is fully open – all 550 meters of indoor and outdoor lazy river. It’s a great place for a date with a loved one and there are plenty of pretty locations for that ideal social media photo series.
So long, Fu Bao!
Everland has recently announced that three-and-a-half-year-old giant panda Fu Bao, born in summer 2020 at Everland’s Panda World to proud mother Ai Bao and father Le Bao, will go to live in China in early April. This means that visitors to Everland will be able to view Fu Bao in her enclosure until early March, when she will move into a separate facility for quarantine to prepare for her big move across the sea. Fu Bao’s viewing hours will be restricted to the afternoons for the rest of her time here. On a related note, the panda theme experience center Bau Haus, which opened in January, has been filled to capacity since its doors opened. Visitors are flocking there to see Fu Bao in person and Fu Bao-related exhibits and memorabilia while they can.
