Samsung C&T’s Resort Group has released the documentary My Dearest Fu Bao, which offers an intimate portrayal of Fu Bao, South Korea’s first panda born through natural breeding. Directed by Hyeong-jun Shim and Thomas Ko, the film follows Fu Bao’s life at Everland as her caregivers prepare for her bittersweet return to China in April 2024.

Capturing Fu Bao’s Life on Film

My Dearest Fu Bao captures the special relationship between Fu Bao and her zookeepers, who have cared for her since her birth in 2020. The film takes viewers on an emotional journey, offering a rare glimpse into the love, dedication, and eventual farewell that defined Fu Bao’s time at Everland.

International Showings

Having already premiered in South Korea, My Dearest Fu Bao topped the box office on its first day of release with approximately 39,560 viewers and is now screening in select locations around the world.

As of October 2024, My Dearest Fu Bao is screening in Los Angeles and Buena Park, California, United States. Fans of Fu Bao in Singapore can catch the documentary in select cinemas, while it is set to be released in Hong Kong on October 4 and in Malaysia on October 10.
