Everland’s Wild Savanna Expedition Brings a New View of Safari Life

A walk through the safari grasslands brings a different rhythm to wildlife watching: giraffes rising above the trees, elephants in view, and new scenery around each bend. This autumn, Everland is inviting visitors to experience those moments on foot with Wild Savanna Expedition, a new walking adventure through its safari landscape.

Operated by Samsung C&T Resort Group, Everland’s program will open on September 12 alongside its autumn festival. Running through late November, the experience connects Lost Valley with River Trail along an approximately 1 km route, offering encounters with 15 animal species and opportunities to learn about their lives.

A Safari Adventure Across Land and Water

Wild Savanna Expedition takes visitors directly into the distinctive grassland scenery of Lost Valley, Everland’s ecological safari area that is normally explored from a vehicle. Walking into the landscape offers a fresh perspective on the grace of giraffes and the impressive presence of elephants and rhinoceroses.

The expedition also includes River Trail, a previously paid experience now opening at no additional charge as part of the walking route. Its floating walkway follows the waterway between Safari World and Lost Valley, revealing both the peaceful routines of herbivores and striking views of predators such as lions and hyenas from a variety of angles.

Autumn Grasslands and New Wildlife Viewpoints

Everland has designed the trail to reveal changing natural scenery throughout the walk, with observation points positioned to suit the ecological characteristics of each animal. These carefully placed viewpoints bring visitors further into the safari experience while offering different ways to observe the animals.

Around the giraffe zone, autumn plants add seasonal color and texture to the savanna setting. New photo spots use the grasslands as a backdrop, inviting visitors to picture themselves as members of an expedition, while a dedicated rhinoceros viewing area offers a vivid sense of the animals’ size and presence.

Keeper Stories Bring the Safari to Life

At points along the route, zookeepers share stories that connect what visitors see with a deeper understanding of wildlife. Their accounts introduce animal behavior, habits, and ecological characteristics, while explaining the importance of conserving endangered species. Together, the encounters and storytelling turn the walk into an engaging learning experience for the whole family.

The journey begins at the Lost Valley entrance. Visitors who complete the full route of approximately 1 km receive a commemorative explorer certificate to take home as a reminder of their Wild Savanna Expedition.

A New Season of Safari Exploration

The new program builds on Everland’s Walking Safari pilot, which drew an enthusiastic response from 350,000 visitors during a run of around one month this spring. Everland closely analyzed visitor experience data and feedback from the pilot, then refined the route and expanded its activities to create the new expedition.

“Drawing on our many years of experience creating wildlife programs, we have developed a special walking safari where visitors can feel the presence of nature up close,” an Everland representative said. “We hope visitors walk through the safari this fall can appreciate the preciousness of wildlife and create unforgettable memories with their families.”

Wild Savanna Expedition runs from September 12 through late November and is available to all Everland visitors at no additional charge. Visitors can join by queuing on site.
